How will MACROS help me lose weight?
Carbohydrates, protein, and fats make up all of the food we eat. However, each food contains different levels of these macronutrients. For example, meat is predominantly protein, bread is mainly carbs, and avocado is mostly fat, while fish like tuna are a mixture of protein and fat. Your body requires all three macronutrients in some capacity to function at its best. But by setting a goal of how many grams of carbs, protein, and fats you’re going to eat per day, you can lose weight.
Calculating and sticking to your macronutrient levels requires some effort, so MACROS takes the guesswork out of weight loss for you.
Which MACROS plans are best for weight loss?
Depending on your lifestyle – particularly your activity level – either the SCULPT or PERFORMANCE plan can fast-track your weight loss. This is largely because both plans are high in protein – which is essential for weight loss. Protein can help control several weight loss-promoting hormones; it can also increase metabolism and improve satiety – so you feel fuller for longer and naturally eat less.
Option #1 for weight loss: SCULPT
Containing 100g of a protein source and only 6-17g of carbs per meal, our SCULPT plan is specifically for losing weight and/or achieving lean muscle definition. It’s a suitable plan if you lead a mostly sedentary lifestyle (think: working professional) but are doing some form of light exercise (like walking and pilates).
Option #2 for weight loss: PERFORMANCE
If you’re an athlete or follow a hardcore workout plan (think daily F45er), you’ll have higher energy requirements, making the SCULPT plan unsuitable – as it doesn’t contain enough carbohydrates to support your training. But you can still lose weight on our PERFORMANCE plan – which provides 150g from a protein source per meal, and a higher carb content than our SCULPT meals to fuel your fitness.
