Adele’s weight loss seems to be all anyone can talk about lately, with her recent birthday insta post spurring a barrage of discussion, congratulations, and speculation as to how she lost the weight. Rumour has it she dropped around 22kgs through a combination of the Sirtfood diet and reformer pilates.
Here’s the diet Adele followed to set fire to those extra kilos.
Adele’s Weight Loss Diet
Adele’s weight loss can be predominantly attributed to her major dietary change. Adele is reported to have followed the Sirtfood Diet to achieve her weight loss.
What is the Sirtfood Diet?
The Sirtfood Diet involves eating foods that are high in sirtuin activators – a type of protein which protects the cells in our bodies from inflammation and cell death. Sirtuins have also been shown to trigger genes that promote metabolism regulation, increased muscle, and fat burning.
The Sirtfood Diet is broken up into two phases, with the first week involving eating 1000kcal/day for three days and 1500kcal/day for four days, before moving onto the second phase which includes three main meals high in sirtuin rich foods and lots of green juices.
What can you eat on the Sirtfood Diet?
The Sirtfood Diet plan focuses on upping your intake of sirtfoods. Key sirtfoods include:
- Apples
- Citrus fruits
- Red wine
- Buckwheat
- Walnuts
- Dark chocolate
- Medjool dates
- Parsley
- Capers
- Blueberries
- Green tea (especially matcha)
- Soy
- Strawberries
- Tumeric
- Olive oil
- Red onion
